Prepare the property for a focused capture day.

Use this as a starting checklist. The final access plan, scope, timing, and property-specific requirements are confirmed directly before scheduling.

Before the capture plan is finalized

Share the details that can change the scope or timing so they can be addressed before the appointment is confirmed.

  • Identify occupied, vacant, tenant-access, or restricted areas.
  • Flag pets, alarms, gates, lockboxes, parking limits, and building access requirements.
  • Share the listing priorities, must-show spaces, recent improvements, and any features that need context.
  • Note media deadlines and the intended listing-launch date without assuming a delivery promise.

Prepare the property

A clean, accessible space gives the capture plan room to focus on the property rather than avoidable distractions.

  • Remove personal or sensitive items you do not want visible in photographs, video, tours, or floor plans.
  • Clear counters and floors, straighten furnishings, and remove temporary clutter where practical.
  • Replace failed bulbs and use consistent lighting where possible.
  • Open access to requested rooms and outdoor areas; keep private or excluded areas clearly identified.

Check the exterior

Exterior readiness matters for ground and aerial context, but weather and site conditions may still affect the final plan.

  • Move vehicles, bins, hoses, tools, and temporary signs when appropriate and permitted.
  • Make paths, entries, patios, and key views safely accessible.
  • Identify property boundaries, nearby restrictions, or features that should not be represented as part of the property.
  • Do not assume aerial capture is available; feasibility is confirmed for the location and conditions.

At handoff

Confirm the practical details so the project can proceed against the agreed scope.

  • Provide the approved access method and an on-site contact when one is required.
  • Confirm which spaces are ready, excluded, or subject to privacy restrictions.
  • Keep card numbers, alarm codes, lockbox codes, and other sensitive credentials out of website form notes; share access details through the confirmed project channel.
  • Review the agreed services, timing, usage terms, and delivery method before scheduling.
